Best Attractions in Sentosa Island for First-Time Visitors

Sentosa Island isn't just an add-on to your Singapore trip. For most people, it ends up being the highlight. A resort island sitting just off Singapore's southern coast, it manages to fit theme parks, beaches, water rides, night shows, luxury hotels, and beach clubs into one space. And yet, somehow, it never feels cramped.

The trick to enjoying the island is knowing which Sentosa Island attractions to visit before you arrive. Walk in without a plan and you'll spend half the day figuring out where to go next. Walk in with one, and you'll leave wondering how you fit so much into a single day. Whether you’re here with family, friends, or as a couple, Sentosa has an experience built exactly for you.

Must-Visit Attractions in Sentosa Island

1. Universal Studios Singapore

Image

Literally, the undisputed centrepiece of Sentosa Island. With 7 themed zones, 24 rides, live shows, and lots of entertainment, this Sentosa Island attraction is enough to keep families, couples, and groups busy for a full day. Battlestar Galactica and Revenge of the Mummy are the big thrills, while Minion Land and Far Far Away work brilliantly for younger kids.

Tribe Travel Tip: Go early as queues at popular rides build fast by mid-morning. An Express Pass is worth considering if you're visiting on a weekend to avoid the queue and make the most of your day.

Timings: 10 AM - 8 PM (subject to change without prior notice), height restrictions may apply at rides

2. Skyline Luge Sentosa

One of those experiences at Sentosa island attractions that sounds simple until you're actually on it. One moment, you take a chairlift up for sweeping views over the island, the other you are steering your own gravity-powered cart down winding jungle tracks. Fast if you want it to be, easy if you don't. 4 thrilling Luge trackers offering 2.6km of downhill fun has everyone loving it and nobody ever does just one run. Stay for the Night Luge to enjoy neon-lit tracks, cool breeze, and views of the glowing island skyline.

Luge: Friday-Saturday: 10AM-9:30 PM, Other days: 10AM-8PM

Night Luge: Friday-Saturday: 7PM - 9:30PM

Tribe Travel Tip: Plan your visit accordingly as the last entry for the Luge is 1 hour before closing, and 45 minutes before closing for the Night Luge.

3. Adventure Cove Waterpark

Image

Southasia’s only integrated aquatic and marine life park, Adventure Cove waterpark keeps your day fully sorted no matter you’re visiting with family or a group. Enjoy high-speed thrilling water slides full of twists and the unique experience of snorkelling among 20,000 tropical fish at Rainbow Reef. Great for a hot afternoon when you want thrills without the queue anxiety of a theme park.

Timings: Sun to Friday (10AM-5PM), Saturday: 10AM to 8PM

4. Singapore Oceanarium (S.E.A. Aquarium)

Calm, cool, and genuinely impressive. One of the largest aquariums in the world, it's home to manta rays, sharks, and hundreds of other marine species. With immersive habitats, oceanic storytelling, and digital innovation, this is where marine education combines real-world impact. Perfect for families with younger children or anyone who wants a slower pace after a morning of rides.

Tribe Travel Tip: Time-entry ticketing system works here so select your time slot accordingly.

Timings: Monday to Friday (10AM- 7PM), Saturday to Sunday (9AM to 9PM)

5. Wings of Time

Wings of Time Fireworks Symphony is Sentosa's signature nighttime fireworks show and the best way to end your day on the island. Performed against the open sea near Siloso Beach, it combines water jets, laser lights, pyrotechnics, and music into a 20-minute spectacular show. So if you are looking for things to do in Sentosa, this is a must-see.

Tribe Travel Tip: Book seats in advance as it fills up quickly.

Timings: 4PM-9PM

6. SkyHelix Sentosa

SkyHelix Sentosa is the highest open-air ride in Singapore. Quiet, hurried and beautiful, it offers a full 360° panoramic view of the island, the sea, and the Singapore skyline and feels particularly lovely at dusk all within 12 minutes. One of the best things to do in Sentosa for couples, and one of the most underrated spots on the island overall.

Height and weight restrictions: Guests must be at least 1.05m tall. Children under 12 or between 1.05 - 1.2m must be accompanied by an adult. The maximum weight for an adult is about 120 kg and the ride accommodates 16 guests at once.

Timings: 10 AM - 9:30 PM daily, last admission at 9 PM
