The Corniche Abu Dhabi waterfront is one of the city’s most popular coastal spots. It features a public beach, landscaped parks, walking and cycling paths, and views of the Arabian Gulf. Corniche Beach Abu Dhabi sits at the heart of this area, offering three beach sections, year-round access, family-friendly facilities, and a Night Beach zone that opened in August 2025.

This guide covers the different beach sections and entry fees, activities at Corniche Park, what to expect at Abu Dhabi Corniche Beach at night, nearby attractions, and practical tips.

What Is Corniche Beach Abu Dhabi?

This public beach stretches for 2 km along the Arabian Gulf in central Abu Dhabi. It first earned Blue Flag certification in April 2011 and has kept up with the program’s standards. Blue Flag certification is given to beaches that meet international standards for water quality, safety, environmental management, and education.

The Corniche Abu Dhabi waterfront promenade is about 8 km long. Along this stretch, you’ll find gardens, restaurants, jogging paths, cycling lanes, and places to sit with views of the Gulf. From the beach, you can see Lulu Island just offshore and the Marina Mall flagpole, which is among the tallest in the world.

What Can You Do at Corniche Park?

Corniche Park is a landscaped area that runs alongside the beach and Corniche Road. It features gardens, benches with Gulf views, outdoor gym equipment, football and volleyball courts, and a free outdoor library near the water.

Cycling is one of the most popular activities on the Corniche Abu Dhabi waterfront. Fun Ride Sports operates four rental stations along the boardwalk:

  • City bikes, mountain bikes, and models adapted for women wearing abayas are available
  • The main station is outside the Radisson Blu Beach Club and Spa
  • Hire by the hour; advance booking available by phone on +971 55 353 9350

The Corniche Park promenade is long enough that you can swim at the beach, go for a bike ride, and eat at a waterfront cafe, all without needing a car or taxi. The eastern end connects to Heritage Village, while the northern end leads to the Emirates Palace area.

What Is Abu Dhabi Corniche Beach at Night Like?

Image

Abu Dhabi Corniche Beach at night is now set up for visitors. In August 2025, the Al Sahil section (Gate 4, the free public beach) opened a Night Beach zone with safety lighting, so you can swim in the evening after dark.

Even before the Night Beach opened, the promenade and Corniche Park were popular spots after sunset. Cooler evening temperatures make the waterfront more comfortable during the cooler months.

Seasonal events make Abu Dhabi Corniche Beach at night worth planning around:

  • New Year's Eve: Fireworks visible from the Corniche Beach waterfront; crowds are significant on the promenade
  • National Day (2 December): Public celebrations along the Corniche with lights and public entertainment
  • Eid: The beach and promenade fill during evening hours across the holiday period
