Dubai is famous for its modern skyline, desert scenery, beaches, and year-round sunshine. Because of its hot desert climate, temperatures and humidity vary widely throughout the year. This affects when it’s best to enjoy outdoor sightseeing, the beach, or the desert.
Dubai weather has two main seasons: a hot summer from May to October and a milder winter from November to April.
In this guide, you'll find a month-by-month weather overview, seasonal temperatures, Dubai winter weather, weather conditions in Dubai, and the best time to visit based on the activities you have planned.
The weather in Dubai is hot and dry, with very little rain, lots of sunshine most of the year, and two main seasons.
In summer, daytime temperatures often go over 40°C. In winter, days are milder, usually between 22 and 28°C, with lower humidity and more comfortable weather.
Dubai receives approximately 75-100 mm of rainfall each year, with most showers occurring between November and March, according to the UAE National Centre of Meteorology.
Dubai weather also brings Shamal winds, strong north-westerly winds that blow in summer and spring. These winds can lift sand and lower visibility. Near the coast, humidity can reach over 90% at peak during summer, making it feel even hotter than the higher temperature.
Dubai receives over 3,500 hours of sunshine a year.
Key climate facts at a glance:
Dubai’s summer lasts from May to early October, with June, July, and August being the hottest months. The heat and humidity are high, so it’s best to plan outdoor activities for early mornings. Indoor attractions are a good choice during this time.
Dubai weather in July brings average daytime highs of around 41°C. Night temperatures hover between 29 and 32°C, offering very little relief after dark.
It’s best to avoid outdoor activities between 10 AM and 6 PM. Early mornings and after 8 PM are the most comfortable times to be outside.
What works in July:
Dubai weather in July draws noticeably fewer tourists than in the winter months, so if you are visiting key attractions, queues are shorter.

Dubai weather in August features similar highs: daytime temperatures around 40-42°C, with nights rarely dropping below 29°C.
August is also when the Arabian Gulf reaches its warmest sea temperature of approximately 33°C. The combination of air heat and sea warmth means humidity sits very high, and the feels-like temperature consistently exceeds what the thermometer shows.
Light, breathable clothing, constant hydration, and high-SPF sun protection are essential for any outdoor time in Dubai's weather in August.
The Dubai Summer Surprises festival runs across the summer months, with indoor events, dining offers, and entertainment across the city.
In autumn, Dubai’s weather slowly changes from the summer heat to the cooler winter season. Each month gets a bit cooler than the last.

Dubai weather in September still sits firmly in the warm category: average highs of 38-40°C, with nights between 27 and 30°C.
The sea temperature stays warm at around 32°C. Beach visits are possible in the early morning before the heat builds.
Sometimes, late September brings early morning fog. It doesn’t last long, but it can make for great photos during this otherwise dry time.
Dubai weather in September marks the beginning of the transition out of peak summer, but sightseeing should still be limited to cooler parts of the day.

Dubai weather in October brings a more noticeable change. Average daytime highs drop to around 33 to 36°C, and nights cool to 24 to 27°C.
Humidity drops, and the weather gets easier to handle. Outdoor dining comes back, and evening walks by the water are enjoyable again.
Sea temperature holds at around 30°C, still warm for swimming.
Dubai weather in October is a solid choice for visitors who want Dubai's warmth and sunshine without the full intensity of summer.

Dubai weather in November is when the real weather shift happens. Average daytime highs settle around 28 to 31°C. Evenings cool to 20 to 24°C.
